What Is IQOS TEREA Bold Regular Japan?

IQOS TEREA Bold Regular is a Japanese-market heated tobacco stick variant originally introduced in January 2023 for compatible IQOS ILUMA devices. Its historical flavour profile combines deep, full-bodied tobacco with warm-spice aroma. The product uses SMARTCORE induction heating technology and contains nicotine. Japan domestic sales were discontinued in December 2023.

This UAEVAP.ae listing specifies a carton containing 200 heated tobacco sticks, arranged in 10 individual packs of 20 sticks each.

What Are the Main Features of TEREA Bold Regular?

TEREA Bold Regular belongs to the Japanese regular-tobacco family. Its distinctive characteristics are pronounced tobacco body, deep flavour intensity and warm-spice aroma. What Does IQOS TEREA Bold Regular Japan Taste Like?

TEREA Bold Regular was originally described as a deeply flavoured regular tobacco variant with pronounced body and warm-spice aroma. Historical Japanese launch coverage identified depth, richness and spice as its distinguishing sensory characteristics. These descriptions concern flavour and aroma rather than verified nicotine concentration or differences in health risks.

What Are the Warm-Spice and Tobacco Aroma Characteristics?

Warm spice is a defining aromatic characteristic of the original Japanese Bold Regular variant. The manufacturer presented it as a complement to the tobacco's deep, substantial character. The description does not establish which individual spices or flavouring compounds were used, and it should not be treated as a complete ingredient declaration.

Flavour Attribute	Historical Product Description
Flavour family	Regular tobacco
Primary flavour	Deep tobacco
Tobacco body	Full-bodied
Distinctive aroma	Warm spice
Cooling category	Non-menthol regular
Fruit aroma	Not a defining characteristic
Flavour capsule	Not identified
Nicotine quantity	Not independently verified

A contemporary Japanese product report documented the original warm-spice identity in a January 2023 Bold Regular product review.

The article provides historical information about the variant. Its sensory observations are not standardised laboratory measurements.

Does TEREA Bold Regular Contain Menthol?

TEREA Bold Regular was introduced in Japan as a regular-tobacco product rather than a menthol variant. Its original description emphasised deep tobacco flavour and warm-spice aroma. The supplied retailer rating showing menthol at 4/5 conflicts with that classification and should not be presented as a verified manufacturer specification.

Product distinctions

• Regular tobacco category

• Deep tobacco character

• Warm-spice aroma

• No manufacturer-confirmed menthol classification

• No Pearl capsule designation

What Are the Technical Specifications of TEREA Bold Regular Japan?

TEREA Bold Regular Japan was developed for SMARTCORE induction heating and compatible IQOS ILUMA devices. Historical Japanese product information identifies its deep tobacco and warm-spice character. The supplied listing specifies 200 sticks per carton. Nicotine quantity, packaging measurements, batch details and current stock condition require separate verification.

When Was TEREA Bold Regular Discontinued in Japan?

Philip Morris Japan introduced TEREA Bold Regular in January 2023 and announced the end of Japanese domestic sales on December 18, 2023. The variant is therefore no longer part of Japan's current official sales lineup. A listing from an overseas retailer does not independently establish continued manufacturing or original-stock condition.

Can Discontinued Japanese TEREA Still Appear in UAE Listings?

A discontinued Japanese-market tobacco product may continue appearing on international retailer websites. However, a website listing alone does not establish that the product is physically available, recently manufactured or authentic. The actual stock should be checked using original packaging, batch information and supplier documentation.

Important product-verification details

• Original manufacturer packaging

• Correct Japanese-market edition

• Complete carton quantity

• Manufacturer and batch markings

• Packaging integrity

• Applicable warning labels

• Available production information

• Supplier documentation

• Actual inventory availability

A 2026 Japanese tobacco-industry review also documents TEREA Bold Regular's discontinued market status.

For this UAEVAP.ae listing, availability should remain unconfirmed until the physical inventory has been checked.

Which IQOS Devices Are Compatible with TEREA Bold Regular?

TEREA Bold Regular was developed for compatible IQOS ILUMA devices that use SMARTCORE induction heating technology. These devices heat an internal metal element inside the TEREA tobacco stick rather than using an exposed heating blade. Compatible original ILUMA and newer ILUMA i models support the TEREA heating format.

Which IQOS ILUMA Models Support Bold Regular?

Compatible IQOS ILUMA devices use induction heating technology designed for TEREA tobacco sticks. This includes original ILUMA models and newer ILUMA i devices. Compatibility depends on the heating platform, not the Japanese-market designation, flavour name or date on which the tobacco variant was introduced.

Compatible devices

• IQOS ILUMA

• IQOS ILUMA ONE

• IQOS ILUMA PRIME

• IQOS ILUMA i

• IQOS ILUMA i ONE

• IQOS ILUMA i PRIME

Technical information about compatible devices is available through the IQOS ILUMA i Series and IQOS ILUMA i PRIME collections.

Which IQOS Devices Cannot Use TEREA Bold Regular?

TEREA Bold Regular is incompatible with older IQOS models that use an exposed heating blade. The sticks contain an internal metal component intended for induction heating, so inserting them into a blade-heating holder may damage the equipment. TEREA must not be treated as interchangeable with HEETS.

Incompatible devices

• IQOS 2.4 PLUS

• IQOS 3

• IQOS 3 DUO

• IQOS 3 MULTI

• IQOS ORIGINALS DUO

• IQOS ORIGINALS ONE

• Other older blade-heating IQOS models

• BONDS by IQOS devices designed for BLENDS

• Electronic cigarette pod systems

• Disposable vapes

How Does SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM Work?

SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM is the heating technology used by compatible IQOS ILUMA devices. Each TEREA stick contains an internal metal element that is heated through electromagnetic induction. This differs from older IQOS equipment, which uses an exposed heating blade inserted into the tobacco.

What Is Inside a TEREA Bold Regular Stick?

TEREA tobacco sticks contain prepared tobacco, an internal metal heating element, protective materials, airflow and cooling sections, and a filter. These parts form a stick designed specifically for compatible IQOS ILUMA devices. The enclosed metal element must not be removed, cut or swallowed because it can cause serious injury.

Component	Function
Tobacco section	Contains prepared tobacco
Internal metal element	Enables induction heating
Protective front seal	Helps contain tobacco material
Airflow section	Supports aerosol movement
Cooling section	Helps manage aerosol temperature
Filter	Forms the mouthpiece
Outer wrapping	Encloses the stick structure

TEREA sticks are intended for single use.

What Is the Difference Between TEREA and HEETS?

TEREA and HEETS are different heated tobacco stick systems designed for separate generations of IQOS devices. TEREA uses an internal induction-heating element and is intended for compatible IQOS ILUMA models. HEETS are designed for specified older IQOS models containing an exposed heating blade.

Feature	TEREA	HEETS
Intended device	IQOS ILUMA	Older compatible IQOS models
Heating technology	SMARTCORE induction	Heating blade
Internal heating element	Yes	No equivalent induction element
Exposed holder blade	No	Yes
Interchangeable	No	No

The heating systems differ technically, but this does not establish that either product is harmless or free from tobacco-related risks.

How Does Bold Regular Compare with Other Japanese TEREA Regular Variants?

Japanese-market TEREA includes several regular tobacco variants with distinct aromatic descriptions. Bold Regular was historically identified by deep tobacco and warm spice. Rich Regular features roasted tobacco with malt aroma, while standard Regular includes nutty and woody notes. These differences concern flavour identity, not automatically nicotine concentration.

Bold Regular vs Rich Regular vs Regular

TEREA Variant	Distinguishing Profile	Japanese Sales Status
Bold Regular	Deep tobacco and warm-spice aroma	Discontinued December 2023
Rich Regular	Robust roasted tobacco with malt aroma	Current Japanese range
Regular	Roasted tobacco with subtle nutty and woody notes	Current Japanese range
Smooth Regular	Rounded tobacco with black tea and woody aromas	Current Japanese range
Warm Regular	Mellow tobacco with toasted-nut aroma	Current Japanese range
Balanced Regular	Mellow tobacco with herb and citrus aroma	Current Japanese range

Important: Bold Regular's original high sensory-strength rating is historical. It should not be treated as an official ranking against every variant currently available in Japan.

Is Bold Regular Stronger Than Rich Regular?

At its original launch, Bold Regular received a high sensory-strength rating and was associated with deep, substantial tobacco flavour. Rich Regular is separately described through roasted tobacco and malt aroma. Their historical descriptions differ, but they do not establish a verified difference in nicotine content.

For information about other Japanese-market variants, see the TEREA Japan collection.

How Many Sticks Are Included in TEREA Bold Regular Japan?

The carton specified for this listing contains 200 heated tobacco sticks, arranged in 10 individual packs of 20 sticks each. This is a full-carton configuration rather than a single retail pack. A compatible IQOS ILUMA heating device is not included.

Packaging Configuration

Packaging	Quantity
Individual retail pack	20 sticks
Packs per carton	10
Total sticks	200
Heating device	Not included

The actual physical carton must be verified before publishing the quantity as confirmed inventory information.

Does Each TEREA Bold Regular Stick Provide Exactly 14 Puffs?

A standard session on compatible IQOS ILUMA devices generally lasts up to approximately six minutes or 14 puffs, whichever occurs first. This describes a device operating limit rather than a guaranteed puff count from every stick. Actual operation depends on the device model and enabled features.

Puff count does not establish the exact amount of nicotine delivered during a session.

How Should TEREA Bold Regular Be Stored in the UAE?

TEREA Bold Regular should remain in its original packaging and be stored in a cool, dry indoor environment. Dubai and other UAE emirates experience high outdoor temperatures, making protection from direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture important. Discontinued stock requires additional attention to packaging condition and production history.

Storage Precautions

• Keep original packaging intact.

• Avoid excessive heat.

• Protect against moisture.

• Store away from direct sunlight.

• Do not leave cartons inside parked vehicles.

• Keep away from children and pets.

No exact manufacturer-approved storage-temperature threshold has been independently verified for this edition.

What Are the Frequently Asked Questions About IQOS TEREA Bold Regular?

The following questions address common product-information needs involving flavour, Japanese discontinuation, nicotine strength, compatibility and carton quantity. They distinguish the original manufacturer's historical descriptions from current retailer claims. Exact stock condition, manufacturing details and nicotine declarations require verification using physical packaging and supporting documents.

What Is the Flavour of TEREA Bold Regular Japan?

TEREA Bold Regular Japan was originally described as a deep, full-bodied tobacco variant with warm-spice aroma. It belongs to the regular-tobacco category rather than the menthol range. Its historical Japanese product description emphasised tobacco richness and aromatic spice characteristics.

Was TEREA Bold Regular Discontinued?

Yes. IQOS Japan announced the end of domestic sales of TEREA Bold Regular in December 2023. The product was originally launched in January of that year. Listings that remain online in other markets should not be taken as proof that Japanese production continues.

Does Bold Regular Contain Menthol?

Bold Regular was introduced as a regular-tobacco variant, not a menthol product. Its original characteristics were deep tobacco flavour and warm-spice aroma. The supplied retailer rating showing menthol at 4/5 is inconsistent with the historical product classification and should not be published as verified information.

How Much Nicotine Is in TEREA Bold Regular?

TEREA Bold Regular contains tobacco and addictive nicotine. A specific nicotine quantity for this edition has not been independently verified. Flavour intensity and the historical 5/5 strength rating should not be interpreted as measurements of nicotine content or nicotine delivery.

Is Bold Regular Compatible with IQOS ILUMA i PRIME?

Yes. TEREA Bold Regular uses the TEREA induction-heating format designed for compatible IQOS ILUMA devices, including IQOS ILUMA i PRIME. The product's discontinued status does not change the technology for which the sticks were originally developed.

Can Bold Regular Be Used with IQOS 3 DUO?

No. IQOS 3 DUO uses an exposed heating blade and is incompatible with TEREA sticks. Bold Regular was developed for the induction-heating system used by IQOS ILUMA devices. Inserting a TEREA stick into an incompatible blade-heating holder may damage the equipment.

Is Bold Regular the Same as Rich Regular?

No. Bold Regular and Rich Regular are separate Japanese TEREA variants. Bold Regular was historically described through deep tobacco and warm-spice aroma. Rich Regular features roasted tobacco and malt aroma. Bold Regular was discontinued in Japan, while Rich Regular remains part of the Japanese range.

How Many Packs Are Included in a Bold Regular Carton?

The supplied carton configuration contains 10 individual packs, each holding 20 heated tobacco sticks. This gives a total of 200 sticks. The listing refers to a full carton and does not include a compatible IQOS ILUMA device.

Is TEREA Bold Regular Manufactured in Japan?

The Japan designation identifies the product's intended market edition. It does not independently confirm the manufacturing country of a specific carton. Actual production information should be checked using manufacturer markings, batch identification and original packaging.

Does Bold Regular Have Lower Health Risks Than Other TEREA Variants?

No such conclusion can be drawn from its flavour profile. Bold Regular contains tobacco and addictive nicotine. A stronger or more pronounced tobacco flavour does not establish higher or lower toxicity, and heated tobacco products are not risk-free.

What Health and Safety Information Applies to TEREA Bold Regular?

TEREA Bold Regular contains tobacco and nicotine, which is addictive. Heated tobacco products are not risk-free, and their aerosols can contain harmful constituents. Flavour strength, induction heating and the absence of an exposed device blade do not establish that a product is harmless.

Research continues to examine differences between heated tobacco technologies and their emissions.

WARNING: THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS NICOTINE. NICOTINE IS ADDICTIVE.

This product is intended only for legally eligible adults aged 18 or older in the UAE, subject to applicable regulations.

It is not intended for minors, people who do not already use tobacco or nicotine, or pregnant or breastfeeding individuals.

Important Safety Precautions

• Keep away from children and pets.

• Do not swallow TEREA sticks.

• Do not cut or dismantle the internal metal element.

• Do not use with incompatible devices.

• Do not light the sticks with a flame.

• Dispose of used tobacco sticks responsibly.

TEREA sticks contain an internal metal component that can cause serious injury if swallowed. Seek immediate medical assistance if swallowing occurs.
